Learnerships & Internships

Afrika Tikkun Services is passionate about creating a brighter future for our youth through sustainable employment opportunities. One of the ways in which we achieve this is through our learnership and internship programme. A learnership is a structured learning process for candidates to gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the workplace, directly related to an occupation or field of work.

Learnerships and internships are central to skills upliftment in South Africa. They provide an opportunity for a mutually beneficial relationship between candidate and employers to occur:

For the youth, learnerships are opportunities to access a career whilst simultaneously studying for an educational qualification.

For businesses, both provide various benefits, including, BBEEE points, tax incentives, increased ROI through talent pipeline building, not to mention the opportunity to make a profound impact on a candidate’s life.

For graduates, internships are are opportunities to access a career whilst simultaneously studying for an educational qualification.

ATS offers a partnership and management service to help companies set up and implement their learnerships and/or internships, along with structured support for youth who are enrolled. Once you sign an agreement with us to implement these programmes, we will provide you with the following support:

  • Recruitment of candidate suited for the opportunity
  • Finalisation of necessary paperwork
  • Registration of the learnership with the relevant SETA
  • Monthly reports and attendance registers
  • Documentation required for Tax Deduction and BBEEE
  • Facilitation of the youth’s journey to acquire a qualification and/ workplace experience
  • Where possible, facilitate the absorption of the youth into the economy post programme
