The Call of Technology: Vhukhudo Mauba’s story
Vhukhudo Mauba grew up in the rural village of Tsianda Govha Thondoni in Limpopo with a passion for Information Technology (IT) and nature conservation. After being introduced to a computer at age 10, the wonders of the digital space were never far from Vhukhudo’s mind.
After attending the Almighty Learning Centre for his primary education, Vhukhudo studied at Thohoyandou Technical High School where he focused on technical designs. After matriculating, he enrolled at the University of Venda to pursue a degree in Nature Conservation. After the completion of his degree, and unable to tear himself away from his hobbies of troubleshooting Windows Systems, and debugging viruses and malwares, Vhukhudo decided to follow his long-held passion in IT. He will complete a National Diploma in IT this year.
Thanks to Afrika Tikkun and its partnership with Microsoft, Vhukhudo was offered the opportunity to develop his technical skills in cloud and Microsoft 365. “I’ve competed multiple certifications in Microsoft Azure and Office 365 and I hope to gain more practical work experience in cloud,” says Vhukhudo. “Afrika Tikkun made this learning possible for me. I believe that education really is the key to all human development.”
